Black out parts of a picture before you share it. Nothing leaves this page. The image stays on your device, and you download a new flattened PNG with solid black boxes baked into the pixels.
Drag anywhere on the image to draw a box. Lift to commit it. Scroll the page from outside the sheet.
What this does
It is a small offline tool for sharing screenshots, scans, or photos without leaking the parts that are nobody's business: a notification, a reflection, an address on a parcel, a tab you forgot was open. Draw a box, it turns solid black, download the result.
Why black boxes and not blur
Blur and pixelation can sometimes be reversed or guessed from context. A solid opaque rectangle removes the information. On export each box is snapped outward to whole pixels so no half-covered edge pixel survives.
Check it yourself
- Open the page with your device in airplane mode or the network switched off. Everything still works, including the demo image and the download.
- Open your browser's developer tools, Network tab, then open an image and download the result. No requests appear.
- Open the downloaded PNG in any image viewer. It should have the same width and height as the original, and the boxes should be pure black with nothing visible underneath, even at high brightness.
- Search this page's source for "fetch", "XMLHttpRequest", "http://", or "https://". None are present.
